Ahmet has been working for Omur Marine since 1999. When he graduated from the University of Istanbul Law School, he was ranked third in his class. In addition, Istanbul University Institute of European Community has awarded him an LLM degree in European Union Law. Afterwards, Ahmet became specialized in Maritime Law, Commercial Law and Criminal Law during his private practice as a partner of Ilke Law Office. He is highly experienced in all kinds of maritime claims including personal injuries and cargo claims and accordingly responsible for FD&D and claims handling. Ahmet Can whom has been serving at the board of directors of Chamber of Shipping, is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Piri Reis University which is founded to provide an education so as to fulfill the need of qualified workforce for maritime sector such as seafarers, naval architects, engineers, and lawyers. Additionally he serves at the board of directors of Turkish Maritime Education Foundation (TUDEV) – famously known by its notable contribution in development of maritime industry and education in Turkey.
